Portuguese for foreigners
The main objective is to take the foreign pupil to proficiency in the Portuguese Language in a fast, efficient and pleasant way. In order to achieve this goal, the following student characteristics are observed: native language, duration of residence in Brazil, professional area, performance, etc.
The method used is interactive and dynamic. Using the modern Communication Approach, we not only focus on the practical daily situations but, also, on the basic grammatical knowledge and relevant aspects of Brazilian culture.
The lessons are taught in Portuguese from the beginning and may take place at the student´s office or home, depending on his/her convenience
In order to keep up with the latest developments in language teaching, I have constantly endeavoured to offer our students the best classroom environment that includes not only the teaching of the target-language itself but also the cultural features embodied in the it.
Interaction amongst the students occurs all through the lessons so as to make them feel at ease when faced with real-life situations. Fluency and accuracy are developed concomitantly through activities that work on the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
We try to diversify activities to make our lessons as lively as possible with games, role-plays, videos, CD-ROMs, internet, pictures and so on.
Native speaker, graduated in Portuguese, English Language and Literature at University. Portuguese classes are especially designed to meet student needs. First, I will evaluate student objectives during a personal, free-of-charge interview and then design the program accordingly.
Portuguese classes are focus on the communicative and lexical approach which emphasizes the use of Portuguese in real-life situations. Grammar and vocabulary are always taught in context, and students are encouraged to use the forms and functions presented in class in meaningful ways.
